As the global fight rages against the invisible coronavirus, a new cyber guide aims to prevent the spread of another type of virus threatening cybersecurity in the U.S. and overseas.
«The Utility Regulator’s Role in Promoting Cybersecurity: Resilience, Risk Assessment, and Standards,» is a practical guide that aims to increase regulators’ technical capacities and abilities to face a host of cyber threats across the energy sector.
The guide’s authors are cyber authorities in the U.S. and the European Union: Stefano Bracco, of the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators; Frances Cleveland, from Xanthus Consulting International (on behalf of the International Electrotechnical Commission System Committee — Smart Energy — Cyber Security Task Force), and Tim Conway, from the SANS Institute. Bracco and Cleveland provide key insights and describe challenges across the cyber landscape.
