  • Progress in reducing emissions

    Progress in reducing emissions

In most areas, these ambitions are credible, in line with the required pace and scale of change. It is now time to deliver the promised action.  This report marks a change in the CCC approach, with a new monitoring framework focused on delivery against the Net Zero Strategy. Emissions in 2021 bounced back to some extent after COVID-19 but remain 10% below 2019 levels. This report also marks a change in the CCC approach. We have increased our focus on tangible changes in the economy and across society, monitoring key indicators of progress against a new model of change in each sector. We track progress against the Government’s own Net Zero Strategy, but we also highlight risks to its delivery.

  • Steering Electricity Markets towards a Rapid Decarbonisation

Steering Electricity Markets towards a Rapid Decarbonisation

This report identifies key principles for designing different parts of the market based on evidence from electricity markets globally and provides actionable guidelines to help policy makers match decarbonisation pledges with actions. With short-term wholesale markets as the starting point for generating efficient price signals, the report systematically considers the different parts of electricity markets, perspectives for integrating technologies such as distributed resources and storage, and how the design process fits with other decarbonisation policies and system planning. The principles derived from this analysis provide policy makers with market design tools in the context of new technologies and low-carbon transitions.

    IEEE 2030.5 / V2G AC PROFILE (TEST)

This profile serves to assist EVSE and PEV manufacturers, operators, and system integrators to 192 implement the SAE J3072 requirements using the IEEE 2030.5 protocol.

193 SAE J3072 establishes requirements for a grid support inverter system function which is 194 integrated into a plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) which connects in parallel with an electric power 195 system (EPS) by way of conductively coupled, electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE). Refer 196 to SAE J3072 section 1 for an overview of the scope, purpose, and background of the standard.

  • Annual activity report 2021 – European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency

Annual activity report 2021 – European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency

The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) started its mandate on 1 April 2021 with an overall budget of €58.3 billion under the new multiannual financial framework (MFF) 2021-2027. The Agency is entrusted with the implementation of seven EU programmes (see chart below) contributing to the European Green Deal.

  • Paving the Way: Emerging Best Practices for Electric Vehicle Charger Interconnection

Paving the Way: Emerging Best Practices for Electric Vehicle Charger Interconnection

As electric vehicle (EV) adoption grows, many policymakers across the country are recognizing the need for greater availability of charging infrastructure and have begun allocating funding to meet future EV charging demand. However, to efficiently deploy this charging infrastructure, improvements are needed to some of the policies and practices that govern how charging equipment is connected to the electric grid. Delays at different stages of the process currently create uncertainty for project developers and slow down the transition to electrified transportation.

  • Energy Data Sharing: The Case of EV Smart Charging

Energy Data Sharing: The Case of EV Smart Charging

CERRE  has begun working at the intersection of digital and energy with a new, cross-sector research initiative aimed at identifying the business case and governance principles for the development of a European energy data space, using the concrete example of smart electric vehicle charging points, which will play an important role in increasing the flexibility and efficiency of the energy sector.
