Este informe es el primer resultado del proyecto Descarbonización del Transporte en Ciudades Latinoamericanas (DTLA); ciudades como Bogotá, Buenos Aires y Ciudad de México, fueron seleccionadas en función de su disponibilidad de datos sobre la actividad del transporte urbano. Como resultado de esta iniciativa, este informe describe una revisión de las políticas y los principales retos de movilidad para conseguir un sistema de transporte sostenible.

Moreover, the reports bring out the need for rethinking decarbonization policies to consider their potential for achieving other benefits related with improving the quality of the transport services, closing gender equality gaps, and improving fi- nancial sustainability of current business models. The DTLA project is part of the IDB’s Regional Public Good programme ‘Support to the planning of low-carbon transportation systems and the ITF’s Decarbonising Transport (DT) initiative. More spe- cifically, the project is part of the DT initiative’s work stream on the development of transport decarbo- nisation pathways for regions, countries or metropolitan areas
